Hawk's Nest Zip Line

 Zipline year-round! Hawksnest currently has 20 ziplines including 4 mega zips, 2 over 2000 feet long and 2 over 1500 feet long. With 4 miles of zipline riding with heights over 200 feet and speeds up to 50 mph. Ziplines are over trees, through trees, over lakes and creeks with panoramic views on almost every ride. Huge observation deck at mountaintop lodge for after your zipping sessions!

Biking Park/ lift rides at Sugar Mountain

 The Sugar Mountain bike park includes its signature expert terrain and newly built beginner and intermediate trails. Varying line option choices from the summit to the base include rollers, small dips, table tops, and other fun features. Valid trail access/lift ticket required at all times.

Tickets can be purchased at the Snowsports School.

Bicycle helmets are required by Village Ordinance.

July 3 – September 7, 2020
Friday: 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Labor Day Monday: 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

October 10 & 11 / Oktoberfest

Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

October 17 & 18 / during Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk
Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

No uphill traffic after 10 a.m. Friday – Sunday

FIREWORKS ON TOP OF SUGAR MOUNTAIN

A spectacular firework show, sponsored by the Village of Sugar Mountain Tourism Development Authority, viewed from Sugar’s 5,300’ peak begins around 9:00 p.m. The Summit Express chairlift runs Saturday, July 4 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. for mountain-top fireworks viewing. No mountain bikes after 7:00 p.m. Typical Mountain Boys perform at the base lodge from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and food and beverages are available.

Oktoberfest at Sugar Mountain Resort

We’ve got lots of reasons for you to grab your beer stein, put on your lederhosen or your dirndl and head to Sugar Mountain Resort Saturday & Sunday, October 10 & 11, 2020. The Harbour Towne Fest Band will provide a festive Bavarian atmosphere to Sugar’s 30th annual Oktoberfest celebration. Admission, parking and shuttle service are free.
